Kano Hisbah Command has scuttled ‘wedding’ of two men in their twenties and detained the groom.

The Commander, Hisbah Sharia Guard, Sheik Aminu Daurawa told reporters in Kano that the bride in the illegal union was at large, Vanguard reports.

Daurawa, while parading the suspected groom, Faruk Maiduguri alongside fourteen others that were at the venue of the botched event, said that the Sharia Corp acted on intelligence report.

Daurawa revealed that operatives of the Hisbah swooped on the men at a recreational resort in Dawakin Kudu local government area.

The Hisbah Commander disclosed that “we got intelligence report that some youth, all men were planing a wedding of two of their friends, and that Faruk and Abba (bride) who is on the run had under the guise of celebrating Faruk’s birthday sent out invitation on WhatsApp and printed out cards that friends should join them in the epoch-making event.”

Sheik Daurawa stated that, save for the timely intervention of his men, Faruk and his friends would have been lynched by irate youth of the adjourning community when the news of illegal union filtered to the neighbourhood.

In a chat with Reporters, the suspected homosexual, Faruk denied getting married to Abba.

He said that they were at the venue to celebrate his birthday and that he is not a homosexual as being accused by men of the Hisbah board.
