Chelsea took on Liverpool on Tuesday evening at Anfield in the first leg of the Capital One Cup Semi-Final. Chelsea took the lead in the first half after Emre Can brought down Eden Hazard in the Reds’ penalty box and the Belgian took up the challenge and scored from the penalty spot.
Liverpool came out fighting in the second half with a greater pace and more attention to attacking the Blues and their efforts paid off when Raheem Sterling scored a wonderful solo goal with his left foot.
The second-leg of the semi-final will take place next Tuesday in Stamford Bridge and Chelsea will be looking forward to making use of the home advantage while Liverpool will be looking to reach the final as a form of morale boost.
