APC Presidential Aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari Fails To Submit Academic Qualification To INEC

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, did not present his academic qualifications to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, even as he prepares for the 2015 presidential contest.

While People’s Democratic Party candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan’s academic certificates were conspicously displayed by the commission upon presentation, Buhari’s credentials were visibly without trace at the commission’s office at Area 10, Abuja.

The former Head of State, in an affidavit he deposed, which he submitted to the commission that all his academic credentials were with the Secretary, Military Board.

The affidavit deposed at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Abuja and dated November 24,2014, was stamped and received at INEC headquarters on December 18, 2014.

In the affidavit, Buhari said: “All my academic qualifications (documents) as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary Military Boards as at the time of this affidavit.”

He added: “The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purpose.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Vice President, Namadi Sambo has also informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his Bachelors and Masters degree certificates have been consumed by fire.

Sambo, who lays claim to degrees in Architecture from the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State, presented sworn declarations to INEC in place of his certificates.

Sambo’s papers were received and stamped at the INEC headquarters between December 10 and 18, 2014 and were displayed at the commission’s office in Abuja, Punch reports.

The sworn declarations presented by the VP read as follows:

“To Whom it may Concern: Mohammed Namadi Sambo,” read, “I certify that the above-named person having completed an approved course of study and passed the prescribed examinations was awarded the Bachelor of Science (Architecture) with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in 1976 by the Senate of this University. His original certificate got burnt. Please treat his case in view of this certification. Thank you.”
