‘We Asked For Weapons But They Gave Us Death Sentences’, Nigerian Soldier On Deathrow Cries Out

About 54 Nigerian soldiers were recently sentenced to death by a military court for mutiny, assault, cowardice and refusing to combat Boko Haram . This has led to a public outcry as it is fast becoming public knowledge that the soldiers are under equipped when compared to the militants they are supposed to face.

One of those soldiers who was sentenced to death has cried out on his Facebook page, here’s what he wrote:

Hello ladies and gentle men. I am soldier and i am sentence to death by the nigeria army. Cause we did not go to fight boko haram with out equipment. We ask for weapon insted dem gave * death sentence

This is really disturbing and most Nigerians will hope that the military authorities temper justice with mercy.
