Cracks In The APC Ahead Of Primaries As Atiku, Others Petition Oyegun Over Delegates’ List

Four of the five presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have petitioned the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun challenging the delegates’ list from Lagos .

A source within the hierarchy of the party who doesn’t want his name mentioned said, party leader “Bola Tinubu is trying to manipulate for more delegates” ahead of the primaries.

The aspirants also demanded a change of venue of the presidential primary from Lagos to Abuja . The screening of contestants is slated for today. The event was initially scheduled for yesterday but later postponed to today in honour of victims of last weekend’s bomb blasts at the Central Mosque in Kano. The explosions claimed 120 worshippers.

In their letter to the Chairman,four aspirants – former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governor of Kano State, Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, his Imo State counterpart, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and Chairman, Leadership newspapers, Nda Isiah, faulted the inclusion of delegates from 37 Local Development Areas in Lagos as part of the list.

The letter was sent to the national chairman at his official residence in Asokoro, Abuja last Saturday. Members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were given a copy each.

    Atiku is our choice for the APC 2015 presidential ticket.
