Former Vice President of Nigeria and APC presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar was in Katsina state on Saturday for various forms of consultation ahead of the All Progressives Congress; presidential primaries.
He met with the mother of the late former Nigerian President Umar Musa Yar’adua. He also visited the APC secretariat in Katsina state which is the home state of another APC Presidential aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari. While at the party’s secretariat in the state, Atiku made a huge donation both to the state secretariat, the elders of the party and the party’s 208 delegates.
He announced the donation and he also made it clear that it was too late for APC to adopt a consensus candidate hence the need to go on with the party’s primaries.
“APC in Katsina Sstate is an orphan. I said this because it is not in government. I have seen the condition of the secretariat; so in my capacity as one of the elders of the party, I give the party secretariat N5 million, the elders N1 million and the delegates N50,000 each”, he said.
