Reports say Nigerian Military recaptures Mubi from boko haram insurgent, as the insurgents are on the run. NewsWireNGR sources in Yola, Adamawa state are yet to verify the claims.

Mubi the commercial nerve centre and second largest town in Adamawa State, had been run over by terrorists, who defiantly renamed the town ‘Madinatul Islam’, which means the city of Islam.

The take over of the town forced residents  who were able to flee into bushes and others at the various Internally displaced camps in the state, a resident told the BBC Hausa service that the insurgents boasted that it took only 64 of them to capture the town from the Nigerian troops who fled.

Those who were trapped in the town tell NewsWireNGR that the sect had begun implementation of strict Shariah law as some trapped residents claimed to have witnessed the amputation of some persons who allegedly looted properties belonging to fleeing residents.

Four local governments of Michika, Madagali, Mubi North and Mubi South of Adamawa State are now in the firm grip of the insurgents, throwing up thousands of internally displaced persons.
