The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Katsina State, Aminu Yar’Adua, has said in Abuja that the ruling political grouping would frustrate the presidential ambition of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in 2015.

Speaking to journalists after submitting his nomination form at the PDP national secretariat on Wednesday, Yar’Adua stated: “ This is not the first time, this will be the fourth time Gen. Buhari is contesting, all in opposition to PDP. So nothing has changed. He contested three times, this is the fourth time, still our party, the PDP won. In 1999, our party won, we won the second part of the late President, we won in 2007, we won in 2011 and I believe we will win in 2015.”

Former head of state, Muhammadu Buhari, has officially declared his intention to run for president in the 2015 elections. He will be contesting on All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

During his speech, he stated that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was responsible for the poor shape of the nation. He promised to make the country better if elected.

If Buhari emerges the party’s flag-bearer, the former Head of State will be contesting alongside President Goodluck Jonathan who has been able to secure the ruling People’s Democratic Party’s sole candidacy ahead of the 2015 elections.

Buhari contested with Jonathan in 2011 on the platform of the defunct Congress For Progressive Change, CPC.
