Amaechi, Abike Dabiri Condemn Mbu Over Arrest Of Journalist

Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has said that the recent arrest of a journalist by former Rivers state Police Commissioner, Joseph Mbu has again vindicated him and revealed the truth about Mbu.

Joseph Mbu was the commissioner of Police during the crisis that rocked Rivers state and was accused of being the PDP tool of oppression during the period of the crisis. Mbu, now an Assistant Inspector General of Police yesterday arrested and detained Mr Joseph Anakwe of the African Independent Television for calling him controversial.

In reaction, Amaechi said that Mbu’s latest act vindicates him (Ameachi). He said this via his Twitter account. The Twitter conversation which was monitored by NewsWireNGR  had Ameachi retweeting strong worded condemnations by his supporters.

“My thoughs on the latest Mbu fiasco with another Amaechi: Again, I have been vindicated. Is anyone still in doubt who Joseph Mbu is? He said.

In the same vein, Chairperson of the House committee on Diaspora Affairs, Mrs Abike Dabiri said Mbu’s action indicates that he is very controversial as stated by Anakwe,

“By detaining AIT’s Anakwe. Mbu indeed has only proven that he is very, very, very controversial. He should tender a sincere apology” she tweeted.
