Dr. Mohammed Modibbo, one of the aspirants jostling for the ticket of People’s Democatic Party in Saturday’s Primary elections in Adamawa state has dispelled rumours that he has stepped down for Acting Governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri

Modibbo made this statement in Press Released issued by his media aide, Mr. Julius Toba, in Abuja on Monday. In the Statement, he urged his supporters to pay no attention to the rumours. He said he is still very much in the race and that he will be not affected by any attempt to distract him.

He wondered why the rumours were coming few days to the scheduled primaries.

The statement said : The statement said, “The latest news of our purported withdrawal from Adamawa governorship election for the acting governor is an imagination of our political detractors who are bent on pushing us out of the race against the popular wishes of Adamawa people.

“As a matter of fact, at no time did Modibbo sit in any meeting either with the acting governor or three other aspirants of the PDP as being rumoured to discuss issue of consensus candidature.

“The import of this is that Modibbo is still 100 per cent in the race and that no amount of this category of cheap propaganda will make him chicken out.

“Modibbo has resolved to continue to chart his own course in this race and see it to the end, as collectively mandated by the ordinary masses of Adamawa who are his on side.”
