Mascherano Bags New Barca Contract

Barcelona and Argentine defensive midfielder, Javier Mascherano has signed a contract extension with his Spanish club. The new deal will keep the 30-year-old at the Camp Nou till 2018 and includes an option of a year extension and a massive buy-out clause of 100 million Euros.

“I’m committed to this Club until the final day of the contract”.

“I hope I can live up to expectations of the Club.

“I’m really happy to be in this great club and be part of a squad with such great players. Let’s hope things go really well for us this season. We’re looking forward to this season after some difficult times last campaign.”

The Argentine who can also play as a defender signed for Barcelona from Liverpool in 2010 and has gone on to win two La Liga titles and one Champions League trophy with the Catalan giants.
