Obama Declines #ALSIceBucketChallenge Thrown At Him

If you have not heard about the viral ALS Ice bucket challenge, are you living in a cave? US President, Barack Obama was nominated to participate in the challenge which involves public figures nominated have ice water poured on them. He was nominated by the eldest surviving member of the Kennedy family, Ethel Kennedy.

The charity challenge aims at raising awareness and funds for patients of the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) condition. If a nominated person refuses to get doused with ice water, he will pay a fine.

US President, Barack Obama has chosen the latter option as he has declined the former. A statement from the White House to Boston Globe’s Matt Viser read:

‘The President appreciates Mrs. Kennedy thinking of him for the challenge, though his contribution to this effort will be monetary’.
