Sorry Barca!!! Neymar Sustains Yet Another Injury

Brazilian international, Neymar Jr will not feature for Barcelona this weekend as they begin their 2014/15 league campaign when they face Elche on Sunday. His absence will be due to an ankle sprain which will keep him in the sidelines for an indefinite period.

Neymar who just returned to action for Barcelona after a back problem which hindered his progress at the 2014 World Cup will have to watch from the crowd once again

A statement on the club’s official website read:

“Following the Thursday training session Neymar Jr. complained about some pain in his left ankle and tests have confirmed that the player has a Grade 1 ankle sprain.”

“The club’s medical team has indicated that his return to training will depend on how the injury treatment evolves.

“It’s worth recalling that, last Monday, Neymar Jr. received his medical discharge from the back injury that he suffered during the World Cup in Brazil.”

Neymar is seen as an integral part of the setup at Barcelona and this is definitely bad news for the fans.
