As the aircraft landed at the airport, it was the beginning of another phase in the history of the State with the State Governor stressing the economic importance of building the airport and its benefits to the people.

The pilot who flew the plane and an official of Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN), also expressed their views on the airport and its facility.

The Bauchi Airport, with modern aviation facility, was built at a cost of 13billion Naira and is to serve people in Bauchi State and the north-east region for national and international flights, which include those on pilgrimage.

With the Bauchi Airport in operation, the north-east region of Nigeria has opened up and it is expected that this would eventually ease the burden of air traffic in some parts of the northern region.
