Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed what he called “sponsored stories,” by some media platforms to the effect that the All Progressives Congress, of which he is chief, had zoned him out of the presidential contest following a new arrangement.

In a statement by the Atiku Media Office on Saturday, it says  at no time did the party’s Convention Planning Committee or its recently-dissolved Interim National Executive Council discussed the issue of zoning of elective offices outside the positions of leadership of the party.

“As for the presidential ticket, the position of all organs of the party is that it is open to all Nigerians irrespective of where they come from,” said Atiku.

Atiku described the reports as “a hatchet job for Aso Rock” titled ‘Atiku Zoned Out’, in a National daily . He Wondered why the presidency was so scared of the prospect of Jonathan facing Atiku in 2015.

Atiku is still in the race for the presidential ticket like other
interested candidates. This is time for the mischief makers in the PDP
to let Atiku and the APC be, You had Atiku in your party and didn’t
recognize his potentials now he has moved on to a party where he is
truly valued and appreciated please just let him be, He doesn’t want to
be part of your undemocratic government.
APC is change and we have all embraced them. OH Lord bless Nigeria

Atiku Abubakar is a political gladiator that cannot be zoned out by any political party most especially the progressive party like the APC. This is a complete hand work of some political bad belle, who will never succeed. Atiku with all the qualities in your possession you are too much.
