Nyanya Bomb Blast: President Jonathan Cancels Trip To Ibadan; To Visit Scene Of Blast

Following the bomb explosion that rocked the Nyanya Park in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.

President Goodluck Jonathan is said to have canceled his earlier scheduled trip to Ibadan, he has also condemned the attacks and ordered for heightened security within the Abuja Metropolis.

The President will at any moment visit the scene of the blast to ascertain the nature of the attacks by the suspected terrorists. The area of the blast has already been cordoned off.

NSCDC officials, Fire Service, NEMA, the DSS and Police have been on ground battling to contain the situation and manage crowd control.

Victims of the early morning blast are being moved to the Asokoro General Hospital. Eyewitness say the bomb went off as commuters boarded the mass transit buses. The blast point caused a crate at the scene.

Meanwhile security agencies are at the scene to contain the incident. NSCDC officials, Fire Service, NEMA, the DSS and Police have been on ground battling to contain the situation.
