NSCDC Donates Operational And Surveillance Vehicles To JTF

In pursuant of the Corps mandate in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, the Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ade Abolurin, donated five Hilux vehicles to the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the Niger Delta Area as well as surveillance vehicle.

The gesture according to the NSCDC is to enhance effective performance of the Corps personnel and the JTF members in fighting the scourge of oil theft and vandalism.

Abolurin said, the doggedness of the Corps personnel in tackling the menace of vandalism is to ensure efficient execution of Mr. President’s Transformation Agenda in improving the economy and guaranteeing meaningful development.

In a working visit to Major General Emmanuel Atewe at the Joint Task Force Headquarters (Operation Paulo Shield) Bayelsa State, Abolurin commended the effort of the JTF in the Niger Delta in curbing vandalism of critical infrastructure, oil thefts, illegal refinery as it concerns the oil and gas sector as well as the handing over of suspects and exhibits to the Corps for prosecution.

He assured the Commander of the Corps readiness and support at all times in fighting the cankerworm bedeviling the nation.

General Atewe along with his Lieutenant Commanders while receiving Dr. Abolurin and his team appreciates the Corps and applauded the effort of the Commandant General for delivering five (5) Hilux vehicles well-equipped and other gadgets to support JTF operations within the Niger Delta.
Atewe, who was in company of his Unit Commanders such as the commander from Civil Defence ACC Danjuma Elijah, ACP Compol A.G. Magaji NPF Commander, COS Col. H.E. Nzan and the media coordinator Col. O. Nwachukwu, reinstated their commitment in fighting vandalism to a standstill.

General Atewe called for synergy and partnership among security agencies as well as stressing on their commitment in retaining good working relationship with the Corps and thereby urging other security agencies to emulate the good virtues and gestures of Abolurin’s leadership.

Abolurin urges all personnel working with the JTF to be committed and work with determination to succeeds in the fight against vandalism of Critical Infrastructure bearing in mind the Corps slogan of “Collect and Die, Compromise and be Kidnapped.”
