Bayern Munich Extends Robben’s Contract

German champions, Bayern Munich has extended the contract of one of their star players, Dutch man, Arjen Robben by two years. This extension will keep Robben at the club till 2017.

In 2009, Bayern signed Robben from Real Madrid for £24m. His deal was originally meant to end in 2015. Robben has scored 10 goals in the league this season.

“There can be no better indication of how happy my family and I feel to be here,”

“I’m delighted we’ve now signed the new contract and I’ll continue pursuing trophies with FC Bayern,” an elated Robbin said after signing the contract

The chairman of Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also spoke about the new deal

“Arjen has proved his worth to FC Bayern. He is a fundamentally important member of the team and will now remain so for the years to come.”

Having won the leagues in Holland, England and Spain, Robben seems set to win a third title with Bayern. The German side is currently 23 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga
