2015 Elections: Delta State House Of Assembly Speaker, Victor Ochei Resigns

Reports reaching us says the speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Ochei may have resigned Sunday, as Speaker of the House of Assembly.

It is alleged that Mr Ochei’s resignation is connected to his governorship ambition in the state ahead of the forth-coming general elections.

The Speaker represented the Aniocha North constituency in the state Assembly..

Sources at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, say confirmed that the speaker has tendered his resignation letter, although no official statement has been issued.

It is however alleged that the emergency resignation by the speaker is as a result of an impeachment notice against him by members of the assembly pending the resumption of sitting on Tuesday.

Actual reasons for the resignation and purported impeachment threats were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report..
