Fear Grips PDP Senators Intending To Defect To The APC
Fears might have gripped the aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party senators as none of them has been bold enough to drop their letter of defection to Senate President David Mark, since the upper chamber resumed plenary on Tuesday.
Expectations were high that at least two of the aggrieved senators would drop their letters of defection on Tuesday but nothing like that was contained in the announcement read by Mark before the resumption of plenary.
Aides of the affected senators boasted shortly after plenary on Tuesday that their bosses would do so the following day since the Nigerian Television Authority usually broadcast the live telecast of the chamber’s proceedings on Wednesday.
However, senators on the floor and observers at the gallery were disappointed when none of such letter was read by the Senate President through out the session on Wednesday.
Investigations by PUNCH on Thursday revealed that some of the aggrieved senators had written Mark asking him not to yield to any pressure to declare their seats vacant.
