Jonathan Confirms The Resignation Of Defiant PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur

President Goodluck Jonathan Thursday announced to the members of National Executive Committee of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party that the national Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has resigned.

The President said the party’s NEC PDP has accepted the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.

Tukur has consistently denied tendering his resignation letter despite having handed over the letter to the President since Tuesday, Newswirengr sources disclosed..

The Chairman even at the close of the meeting was still telling newsmen that he remains the party chairman but with the statement from the leader of the party, the chapter of insisting on leading the troubled party should be closed.

The President was said to have brought out Tukur’s letter of resignation from his pocket, handed it over to the National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo.

As soon as he announced the resignation, the audience clapped in acceptance.
