FG Installs Equipment To Detect Improvised Explosive Devices At Airports

The Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah Saturday night in Abuja, at a reception held in honour of  the incoming International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)  President elect, Dr. Bernard Aliu said government has completed the  installation of  the  Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) detectors at Federal airports nationwide.

Ms Oduah who has been in the eye of the storm over the illegal Purchase of 2 BMW cars for  the  sum of 255 million naira for her use by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Agency (NCAA), said drug detection equipment have also been installed at all the airports for security, safety and environmental protection.

As  the Federal Government  moves  to unravel those behind the recent bombing of the Nigerian Airforce base in Maiduguri,   Oduah said the Aviation industry was  to position Nigeria as a continental hub, taking advantage of her unique geographical location in West Africa and vast human resources.
